I've worn 501's for decades and these new pair fit just like they always have. 33 waist is perfect, 29 length (short legs) are also perfect, local stores seldom have the 29" leg so I tend to tear them up at the bottom. They aren't as thick as my 501's I wore back in school in the 70's but still hold up better than other jeans I've tried.
Although I think the denim is thinner these days, and some rivets are gone, these are the same button up style and fit I loved as a kid 60 years ago. Used to have to wash and wear wet first time to get them to shrink to fit, but sizing appears to be true out of the shipping box. My go to jean. Love the extra sizes available online that you never see in the stores.
In times of prosperity, I buy 501s because they are simply the best. It has been a while since I felt secure financially and having reached that point again, I took a bunch of Wranglers to Goodwill and got some of the 'good stuff'. Always fit exactly as they should, always made with the higher weight fabric, always made with great attention to detail. What's not to like?
I usually don't wear this size, so the way these jeans are made is happening. But this is just a number, as long as the jeans are right for the way they should. Just hope that I don't have to go through all the troubles of return and refund. Anyway, I am a happy camper, it's just a size I usually wear, it might be worse.
I purchased these to wear casually, and when riding my motorcycle. I haven't purchased a pair if original 501's since high school, and let's just say that's been a while. These jeans still fit exactly as I remembered and I guess I should have never stopped wearing them. Sizing was perfect for me, 36 X 34. Very comfortable and would recommend theses if you haven't worn them for years or never. I'm not a bling and fancy thread design guy on my blue jeans. Just want them to fit right and be comfortable, and these do both nicely. I will be buying more!
